They did not openly use the terms Visual Poetry and Visual Music, but when you analyze their works using my Visual Music & Poetry ® model, you can see how the greatest old masters knew how to apply these principles. In order to create a masterpiece, the old masters had to go through years of apprenticeship under other old masters. But, there is so much cool and interesting art from other parts of the world that rarely ever get spotlight in art mentionings (outside of this app).( Get free painting tips and techniques sent straight to your inbox or on my social media.) How did the Old Masters know how create a masterpiece? It might be because staff have studied mostly European art and I’m very glad that the creator had the passion to make this app in the first place to share art with everyone. The information and descriptions for non-European art is usually shorter too. Very rarely do we get anything outside of that. Most of the art is Eurocentric with occasional scatterings of Japanese artwork. However, as some have pointed out, there lacks diversity. They also provide “extra-curricular” readings at the end of every day’s blurb if you want more information and art for the day! In addition, there are information on art movements and artist biography. The app is great! You get a short readable blurb every day to learn about art pieces. It has become part of my daily routine and I recommend reading the daily work over breakfast with a warm cup of coffee and a pastry□ The diversity of works presented allows you to develop your own tastes so that you can go out and research your preferred style even more. I highly recommend this app to any beginner (and seasoned art connoisseur as well) wanting to learn about art from around the world and establish a solid base. This app has become my escape from the busy life as a student now in a doctoral program, allowing me to slip away into the wonderful world of art and push the stress of exams, deadlines, etc away even if it is just for a moment. DailyArt curates works everyday so that I don’t have to go out looking on my own and they have introduced me to so many artists I wouldn’t have otherwise stumbled upon. I mainly knew that I had an ability to appreciate art, that it made me happy to look at and analyze a piece, and that it made me think critically about something other than school which I have appreciated ever since downloading this app. Before that, I didn’t have much experience in the art realm as far as history went. I have been using DailyArt for 4 years years now, since I was a sophomore in college. If you love DailyArt, get DailyArt Premium!
